Getting there
Denver International (DEN) connects to Union Station in 37 minutes on the A Line commuter train, which is faster and cheaper than a taxi. Amtrak also stops at Union Station. A car is optional in the city and strongly recommended for mountain day trips.

Where to stay in Denver
Downtown & LoDo
Historic warehouse blocks around Union Station, with lofts, rooftop bars, and Coors Field. The easiest base for a car-free stay.
RiNo (River North Art District)
Murals, breweries, and converted industrial buildings. Modern apartment rentals, the best nightlife, and a 15 minute walk to downtown.
Cherry Creek
Upscale shopping, galleries, and quiet residential streets with newer townhomes. Good for couples and shoppers; a short drive from downtown.
Capitol Hill
Victorian mansions turned apartments near the State Capitol and the Denver Art Museum. Central, affordable, and full of coffee shops.
Union Station & Central Platte Valley
Right on the A Line airport train, next to the aquarium and riverfront parks. The most convenient location if you are flying in without a car.
Highlands & LoHi
Bungalow-lined streets across the river with excellent restaurants and skyline views. Family-sized homes are easiest to find here.
Baker & South Broadway
Vintage shops, live music venues, and cheaper historic rentals. Lively but residential, with good transit downtown.
Golden & the foothills
Twenty minutes west, at the mountain edge. Houses here trade city walkability for trailheads and Red Rocks access.
