Review moderation

Reviews come from registered members and may be held for moderation before they appear. We screen for spam, fake or incentivized reviews, conflicts of interest, and abusive content. Members can report any review, and reports are reviewed by our team.

Guest article moderation

Every guest article and contributor application is reviewed by an editor before publication. We check for originality, accuracy, and alignment with our editorial standards, and we decline content that reads as undisclosed advertising.

Community standards

• Be honest — reviews and comments must reflect genuine experiences.
• Be respectful — no harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks.
• No spam or self-promotion outside designated features.
• Protect privacy — don't post other people's personal information.

Reporting inappropriate content

Use the report option on any review, comment, or article, or contact us through the Contact Us page with the “Report Content” category. Include a link to the content and a short description of the concern. We review every report.

Account security

Authentication is handled by Supabase with encrypted connections and hashed passwords, and Google sign-in is available if you prefer not to manage another password. Keep your credentials private, sign out on shared devices, and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Fraud awareness and external rental links

Rental listings on this site link to third-party websites. We do not own or manage any property, and we never handle bookings, payments, or deposits. Before paying anyone:

• Independently verify the property's existence, address, and reviews on the external listing site.
• Confirm payment instructions directly through the listing platform — never via wire transfer, gift cards, or messages sent outside the platform.
• Read cancellation terms, fees, and house rules in full before paying.
• Be cautious of prices that seem far below market rate or pressure to pay immediately.

Traveler safety

Research your destination's local conditions, keep copies of booking confirmations and identification, share your itinerary with someone you trust, and follow local laws and guidance while traveling.

Contributor verification and spam prevention

Contributors apply and are approved individually. Forms on the site use validation and spam-prevention measures, and repeated abuse leads to account suspension.

See something that shouldn't be on the site? Contact us through the Contact Us page and choose “Report Content”. We take safety reports seriously and act on them promptly.
