What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We also use browser local storage, which works similarly but stays on your device until you clear it. This policy covers both.
Essential cookies
These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They include load-balancing and security cookies set by our hosting platform.
Authentication and session cookies
When you sign in — with email or through Google — our authentication provider (Supabase) stores a session token in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in between pages and visits. Signing out removes it.
Preference storage
We store interface preferences — such as your recent destination searches and notification settings — in local storage so the site remembers them on your next visit. These never leave your device except as needed to load your account preferences.
Analytics
We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which guides are read and how visitors find the site. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to build advertising profiles.
Google sign-in
If you use “Sign in with Google”, Google may set its own cookies during the authentication flow. Those are governed by Google's privacy policy.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies and site data in their settings. Blocking essential or authentication storage will prevent sign-in from working, but the rest of the site will remain readable.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the cookies or storage we use change. The “last updated” date shows the current version.
