Getting there

Fly into Pensacola (PNS), 40 minutes east, or Mobile (MOB), just over an hour away. Orange Beach sits on the Gulf at the Alabama–Florida line.

About Orange Beach

Orange Beach has been a fishing town since long before the condos arrived, and the charter fleet based at Zeke's and the Perdido Pass marinas still runs daily for red snapper, grouper, and amberjack. The artificial-reef program offshore — one of the largest in the country — makes the fishing genuinely world-class.

The beach itself is the same brilliant white quartz as the rest of the Alabama coast, and the Backcountry Trail winds through the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge's dunes and maritime forest. The Flora-Bama, the famous roadhouse straddling the state line, is ten minutes east, and Gulf Shores shares the strand to the west.

Vacation rentals in Orange Beach

Orange Beach vacation rentals include Gulf-front condo resorts with multiple pools, bayfront homes with boat docks for fishing crews, and beach houses for big family groups. Boaters should target the bay side or condos with marina slips.

Snapper season (typically June–August) and summer family weeks book first. The Wharf area suits travelers who want concerts and dining on foot; the beach strip suits pure sand-and-pool weeks. Fall is the insider season — warm water, low rates, and the year's best fishing.

Things to do in Orange Beach

Anglers, families, and music fans

Orange Beach works for two trips at once: serious fishing mornings and classic beach afternoons. The Wharf's amphitheater draws national acts all summer, and the combination of beach, bay, and backcountry gives families more variety than a typical beach strip.
